EXPANSION OF EMERGENCY FUEL SURCHARGES ACROSS SUPPLY CHAIN
We would like to provide a further update to our previous communication regarding the implementation of Emergency Fuel Surcharges (EFS) across global freight services.
Since our last notice, we are now receiving broader confirmation from carriers, co-loaders, and essential service providers that these surcharges are continuing to expand in both scope and application across the supply chain.
Key developments:
• Emergency Fuel Surcharges are now being extended beyond ocean freight and LCL services to include air freight and airport-related handling services in Australia and Abroad
• Additional surcharges are being applied to services such as airport retrieval, cargo lodgement, screening, and transfer activities
• These measures are being introduced by multiple upstream providers in response to sustained increases in fuel costs, particularly diesel, and ongoing volatility in global energy markets
• Surcharges are now being applied across both import and export shipments, covering sea freight (FCL & LCL), air freight, and associated landside services
• Implementation is occurring progressively, with further adjustments expected as providers continue to review cost recovery measures
These developments reflect a broader trend across the logistics sector, where rising fuel costs and geopolitical factors are impacting not only international freight but also local handling, transport, and consolidation services.
As previously advised, all such surcharges will continue to be applied by TCF on a strict pass-through basis, in line with supplier invoicing.
What to expect moving forward:
• Continued volatility, with potential for further adjustments across both international and local service components
• Expansion of surcharges into additional service areas as cost pressures persist
• Ongoing reviews by carriers and service providers, with changes possible at short notice
Our team remains in close contact with all service partners and is actively monitoring developments to ensure we provide timely and accurate updates.

We appreciate your continued understanding as the industry navigates these evolving conditions.
