DP WORLD AUSTRALIA - UPDATE ON INDUSTRIAL ACTION

TCF has received notification that recent discussions between DP World management and the CMFEU have not yielded a resolution, leading to further industrial action. The scheduled dates for the protected industrial action will continue as follows:

Brisbane: 11/12/2023 to 23/12/2023
Sydney: 11/12/2023 to 23/12/2023
Melbourne: 11/12/2023 to 23/12/2023
Fremantle: 11/12/2023 to 23/12/2023

This ongoing situation is causing significant disruptions to sea freight cargo operations in and out of Australia, resulting in extensive supply chain delays. We understand the importance of timely shipments and acknowledge the challenges this presents.

The below is the statement from the Union:

The Union has flagged that – if the company cannot be bothered to participate in bargainingbefore the beginning of the second month of 2024 – the program of protected industrial action the workforce had pursued in recent months would recommence.

“Workers are left with no option but to recommence lawful, legitimate and reasonable protected industrial action in order to get an agreement in a timely manner,” Evans says.

“DP World’s Australian managers, and their ideologically driven legal representatives, only have themselves to blame for this collapse in the bargaining process. The MUA remain available to meet to bring the negotiations to a close, but management seem more focussed on their Christmas holidays while expecting wharfies continue to work 24/7 throughout the holiday season.

We understand the importance of clarity during these challenging times, and we will continue to communicate the impact of the planned Protected Industrial Action through our normal channels. Contingency plans will be necessary to accommodate sea freight shipments that may experience delays.

Based on this information, the following will be affected by the planned Protected Industrial Action.

SYDNEY DP WORLD –

• All receival and delivery stoppage from Monday 18th Dec 06:00hrs through to Tuesday 19th Dec 06:00hrs.
• All receival and delivery stoppage from Friday 22nd Dec 06:00hrs through to Saturday 23rd Dec 06:00hrs.

MELBOURNE DP WORLD –

• All receival and delivery stoppage from Monday 18th Dec 12:00hrs through to 16:00hrs.
• All receival and delivery stoppage from Tuesday 19th Dec 12:00hrs through to 16:00hrs.
• All receival and delivery stoppage from Wednesday 20th Dec 12:00hrs through 16:00hrs.
• All receival and delivery stoppage from Thursday 21st Dec 12:00hrs through to 16:00hrs.
• All receival and delivery stoppage from Friday 22nd Dec 06:00hrs through to Saturday 23rd Dec 06:00hrs.

BRISBANE DP WORLD –
