GENERAL RATE INCREASE - USA EAST COAST TO AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND EFFECTIVE 16 JANUARY 2017

Please be advised that the Ocean Carriers operating the United States Southbound Direct Services to Australia & New Zealand have announced a Genral Rate Increase (GRI), effective from the 16th of January 2017 (Cargo Received Date).

Attached is an example of this notification from Hamburg Sud.

Note - This GRI is in addition to the USA BAF/EFAF increase broadcasted yesterday which comes into effective from the 1st January 2017.

According to the notifications received, the GRI Base rate increase will be as below:

Increase Effective - 16th January 2017:

20' Container - USD 200.00

40' Container - USD 400.00

As we have done previously, TCF and our overseas partners will be monitoring the market situation closely and continuing our efforts to mitigate the FCL GRI level. 

LCL shipments will subsequently be effected by both the EFAF and GRI Increases as outlined below:

LCL BAF/EFAF Increase - USD 3.00 w/m(effective 1st January 2017 ETD)

LCL GRI Freight Increase - USD 8.00 w/m(effective cargo received on or after 15th January 2017)
