TCF has received notification from Freight and Trade Alliance (FTA) that the Container Transport Alliance Australia (CTAA) has today provided a notice advising of possible disruptions due to port protests at the Port of Melbourne over the coming days.
Port of Melbourne is working with Victorian Police to prepare for possible protest activity
Potential protests anticipated:
- Arrival of ZIM Sparrow
- scheduled to arrive at Webb Dock on Thursday 11 April.
- Port of Melbourne actively working with Victoria Police to prepare for possible protests.
- A15 Economic Blockade
- an expectation of protest action being taken on or around 15 April with a global targeted campaign aimed "to disrupt and blockade economic logistical hubs and the flow of capital".

Necessary steps are being taken given the short time between these two events, including additional security resources and increased security patrols for the duration of the visit by the ZIM SPARROW and the A15 campaign.
FTA and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) will provide updates to industry should any disruption eventuate and TCF will ensure these updates are provided to you as soon as possible.
