IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM DAFF - CHANGES TO PACKING DECLARATION TEMPLATES

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) recently updated the packing declaration templates as of December 2024.

Below is a summary of the key changes and requirements:

Key Updates:

  1. Separate Templates for LCL and FCL/X (BCN) Shipments
    DAFF has introduced specific templates for different shipment types:
  • FCL Annual Packing Declaration
  • LCL Annual Packing Declaration
  • FCL/X (BCN) Packing Declaration (Single Shipment / Consignment specific)
  • LCL Packing Declaration (Single Shipment / Consignment specific) 
  1. Single Entry Supplier Packing Declarations for FCX/BCN Consignments
    For FCX/BCN (supplier-consolidated containers), a single-entry supplier packing declaration is acceptable if:
  • The container is packed by one supplier or a third-party consolidator.
  • The container number is used to link the declaration to the consignment. 
  1. Who Must Complete the Packing Declaration?
  • Declarations must be completed by the company or person who physically packs the container.
  • They cannot be completed by head offices or entities not directly involved in packing the container.

Note:

Previous versions of the templates that reference DAFF’s former name remains acceptable, provided they meet the requirements outlined in the Non-Commodity Information Requirements Policy and the Minimum Documentary and Import Declaration Requirements Policy.
