DP WORLD PROTECTED INDUSTRIAL ACTION - UPDATE as of Tuesday August 2020
Further to our notification on the 4th August, TCF International has received amended details of current and future action at DP World. Please find below statement from today 11th August.
DP WORLD today released the following statement:
Dear Customers,
Since our previous advice on 3 August, the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) has amended its notice to DP World Australia (DPWA) of Protected Industrial Action (PIA) at DPWA Terminals, encompassing work restrictions and additional stoppages.
The effect of the work restrictions varies across terminals and includes various bans on employees working in tasks above their normal grade, overtime, shift extensions, accepting late call-ins and ceasing advanced or delayed start times.
DPWA management regrets the impact this has on our Customers’ business and we appreciate your patience as we go through this process. DPWA remains committed to reaching a new Enterprise Agreement that delivers improved productivity and we will keep you updated as we progress.
The latest update of the Action and how it may impact you is detailed below.
BRISBANE
- On 13 August, a work stoppage for 24 hours, commencing at 07:00 and finishing at 07:00 the following morning.
- On 17 August, a work stoppage of 24 hours, commencing at 22:00 on 16th August and finishing at 22:00 on the 17th.
- From 17 - 21 August, work stoppages of 1 hour per shift, commencing at 06:00, 14:00 and 22:00.
- Vessel operations and non-automated yard operations will be stopped during these hours.
- Landside receival and delivery operations to the automated modules will continue as normal during the 1 hour stoppages and will opperate on the Day Shift (07:00-15:00) during the 24-hour stoppages on 13 & 17 August.
- Work restrictions continue to apply.
SYDNEY
- From 4 August to 1 September, work stoppage for 1 hour per shift, at 05:00, 13:00, and 21:00 every day.
- All terminal operations will be stopped during these hours.
- Work restrictions continue to apply.
MELBOURNE
- From 8 August, work stoppages for 2 hours commencing 04:00 and 4 hours commencing 12:00, every day.
- All terminal operations will be stopped during these hours.
- Work restrictions continue to apply
FREMANTLE
- From 7 August – daily work stoppages have been withdrawn, but work restrictions remain in place.
TCF Will continue to monitor the situation and work closely with effected customers.
