VICTORIAN INTERNATIONAL CONTAINER TERMINAL (VICT) - POTECTED INDUSTRIAL ACTION STARTING 11 JUNE

TCF International has received advice from Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) regarding Protected Industrial Action (PIA) by the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) at Victorian International Container Terminal (VICT).

Attached is the notice sent out by FTA and below a summary of the start dates and proposed action at each port.

Coupled with existing port congestion and vessel delays it is certainly a challenging time trying to minimise the effects of these stoppages that will run for 6 days from 6.00pm through to 6.00am each day. 

Below summarises the details released:

MELBOURNE VICT STOPPAGES

• 12 hour stoppage from 18:00 on 11th June
• 12 hour stoppage from 18:00 on 12th June
• 12 hour stoppage from 18:00 on 13th June
• 12 hour stoppage from 18:00 on 14th June
• 12 hour stoppage from 18:00 on 15th June
• 12 hour stoppage from 18:00 on 16th June
